The English Department at Richard R. Green High School of Teaching empowers our students' scholastic experience through culturally responsive literature using both modern and classic texts. Our students dive into and explore their diverse backgrounds making connections to current real-life issues. The classes frequently parallel the Social Studies courses and are supported by grade level electives providing interdisciplinary and vertically aligned courses of study. Our community develops critical thinking skills through reading, writing, and applied reasoning. The best part of our studies comes from watching these students use those skills to become college-ready real-world citizens.
